Blender is a free, open-source, and very capable program for 3D modeling, texturing, animating, and rendering. Unlike many CAD programs, Blender operates by allowing the user to place and alter the individual vertices, edges, and faces of 3D meshes. This makes it especially well-suited to modeling for game development, allowing the user to craft geometry to exactly their specifications, and optimize them as much as possible (control over the model topography itself is incredibly useful for performance optimization). Just as well, such fine mesh control makes Blender perfectly fitting for making models for 3D printing as well.
In time, this section of the website will host a guide of using Blender, as well as a list of general modeling techniques, shortcuts, and methods. It'll serve both as a tutorial for new Blender users, and a quick reference/idea collection for more experienced users.
